Care and cleaning:

It is important to clean and disinfect after each use. The safety of the master and clients involves maintaining a clean work surface and adhering to all sterilization and disinfection steps. Additionally, gloves and masks should be used. Let's break down the processing steps.

Step 1. Disinfection. This is performed to destroy pathogenic and conditionally pathogenic microorganisms and reduce the number of fungal spores. Immerse in a disinfectant solution, for example, Staleks Pro disinfectant. Then follow the manufacturer's instructions for the solution. The standard treatment time is 15-30 minutes. When purchasing disinfectants, it is best to choose those whose instructions indicate activity against hepatitis B, C viruses, and dermatophytes. Disinfection can be combined with washing in specialized devices to destroy blood particles and dirt through vibration.

Step 2. Washing. To remove residual chemical solution, rinse the tool with water and a special detergent by hand, or use a washing machine. For screws and other joints, use specialized brushes with plastic bristles, handling cutting parts carefully. Cleaning can also be done in an ultrasonic bath.

Step 3. Drying. Carefully lay out the tools, opened with the cutting edge upwards, on disposable paper towels, then place them in craft bags. The tool must remain absolutely dry, as residual moisture during subsequent sterilization can provoke corrosion.

Step 4. Sterilization. Destroys bacteria, viruses, and fungal spores. Follow the instructions of the sterilizer or solution manufacturer. Sterilization can be physical and chemical. Physical – hot, using elevated temperatures in steam equipment (autoclave) or dry heat (dry oven), chemical – cold, using specialized chemical solutions.

Recommendations for sterilization and disinfection:

1. Although Staleks Pro products have an anti-corrosion coating, they should not be soaked in water for a long time – this will lead to a decrease in anti-corrosion protection.
2. Use a disinfectant designed for this purpose. It is forbidden to treat with aggressive substances (acetone and alkali).
3. Use a container suitable for aggressive chemical agents. The disinfectant solution should cover at least 1 cm, and the concentration and exposure time are indicated on the product packaging.
4. After disinfection, thoroughly clean off residual solution, as it can potentially provoke corrosion.
5. After sterilization, leave the contents in the dry oven or autoclave until completely cooled. During a sharp temperature drop, the physical properties of the steel may be disturbed, and sharpening will be needed more often.
6. Fill the sterilizer to 70% to avoid blocking ventilation holes, and stack craft bags in a single layer.
7. After sterilization, check the external indicators, which will change color if the procedure was successful. Open and remove the contents immediately before the client.
8. If the handles are equipped with silicone inserts, it is important to remove them before procedures, clean them of contaminants, and reattach them after the procedures are complete.

How to check cutting quality

The sharpness of the cutting blades is checked on a "collar" napkin.

• Prepare the material to be used for checking the cut. Make sure it is even and sufficiently taut.
• Take the chosen model in your working hand, open the blades, and hold it relative to the material as it would be when correcting the nail plate/cutting cuticles.
• Insert the material for checking between the cutting edges from the tip to the required sharpening length of the working cutting part and begin to smoothly make a cut with slight pressure. Ensure that the blades do not snag but make an even and soft cut.
• Repeat the process to confirm the result. Note that the cut should be clean and effortless.
• A smooth and soft cut confirms the impeccable sharpening quality and readiness for use.
• If the blades snag or the cut is uneven, they should be replaced or sent to a service center for sharpening.
